Kapow Noodle Bar in Mizner Park was awarded the distinct honor of “The Official Cocktail of the 2013 Winterfest Boat Parade”. Our mixologist, Angela Dugan, came up with the concoction for the 2013 Absolut Vodka “Winterfest Cocktail Contest. The contest was open to all bartenders in S. Florida who represented their respective place of employment. Kapow’s cocktail, “The Anchor Clanker” was voted on by a local industry expert and food & beverage writer from New Times’ “Short Order” food and beverage blog.
Round 1 of the contest was a social-media driven popularity contest that gave each entrant two looooong weeks to beg their friends & family to “vote” on their cocktail. The top 3 most popular cocktails advanced to the final round which took on a more traditional judged format. Our bar maven was up against some stiff competition; Lisa from The Downtowner Saloon and Will from The Melting Pot in Coral Springs brought their booze and their A-game but Angela and Kapow came out on top! The judge from New Times said that The Anchor Clanker was “very balanced and showcased Absolut Vodka in the best way.” She continued by saying “it was very impressive how Angela utilized fresh ingredients from the Kapow garden”.
We are honored, humbled and excited! We can’t wait to add this to our trophy case!
